As some of you may know, i went to the dashboard confessional concert this weekend in new hampshire. well thats not then whole thing.

let me start it off from the beginning of the actual adventure. saturday morning i woke up at 8 and went to laura's house to meet her for 9:30ish. i got there and she was not ready nor was she close to being ready. i sat at her house and conversed with her mother for, oh, a good 45 minutes. then i watched laura and her mother bicker for another 20 or so minutes. anyways... we finally left at around 10:45. we were set to go. neither of us forgot anything. it was perfect. we had directions. we had maps. we had it all. we were off on an adventure into another state. something that i havent done for like two years. everything was smooth. the drive through maine and out of maine was wonderful and very easy obviously. then we got onto the highway in new hampshire that was suppossed to lead us to keene state college. we got about half way down the state when i realized that we werent going the right way. so we turned around and took an exit and stopped at a gas station and asked directions. they gave us some directions... yup... those didnt work... we ended up it the same spot. so we got off a different exit and ended up in manchester. this was the ultimate suburbia, not even kidding. volvo driving, soccer moms. and the neighborhood was perfect, perfect lawns, and houses and vehicles and kids. it was just sickening. then we went to another gas station to find out that we were twenty feet away from the correct highway. so we got on that for a while and i was thinking about it and realized that we still werent going the right direction. so we stopped at the new hampshire state liquor store and information center. we went in and talked to the most insane man. he seemed like he was high as a kite. he walked out of his little office thing with a bag of popcorn mumbling about how pop secret was the best popcorn. he was awesome. he helped us get back on the right track and so we headed off once again. we travled the main highway for a good twenty minutes and the got on some other highway and then got onto some other one lane road (route west 9). we were on that road for what seemed like years. not really... more like hour and a half. and on this road we saw the weirdest things ever. pretty much right away there was a building called the golden pineapple... it was a gift shop. and there was a giant gold pineapple on the front lawn. further down the road was a cement factory with big trucks in the front... at first we thought they were giant zambonies... turns out they were cement mixing trucks that only looked like zambonies. so that was pretty funny. and at that same place was this huge (seven foot) pumpkin made from cement. once again... very random but funny non-the-less. and then even further down the road was this broken down abandonded red shack that had a sign on the top of it that said "sugar house". that was by far the funniest thing. we made fun of how new hampshire was full of run down brothals. finally we managed our way into keene... which mind you was in the extreme bottom left hand corner of new hampshire. and when we got lost the first time were in concord... the extreme bottom right hand corner of n.h. so needless to say it took us almost four hours to get there. it was so fun tho. we met up with her friend patrick... hes a cool kid. and then went to the student center and got some food and then off to the concert. the concert was at dartmouth college... yes an ivy league school. we got there really easy because patrick had been there before so he knew how to get there. thank god. so we were driving through this really nice part and i rolled down the window and asked two girls walking if they knew where the campus was... they were like "yeah... this is it, your on it" that was funny too. it is the most amazing campus you could ever step foot on. its soooooo beautiful. unfortunately i would never get into a college like that. all the kids at the college were either preppy little bastards that dont pay for anything or a bunch of twelve year olds... who were also preppy little bastards that dont pay for anything. i was so happy to finally be in the stadium tho. we were in there for like five minutes when i realized that this 7' 2" kid and his friend in front of me were the kids that i met at UNE the weekend before. it was really cool to see them there and to have them be right in front of us. the four of us plowed our way through crowd to the middle and somewhat close to the front. we had a good time just standing there. we were the most talkative people. we made all kinds of new friends. it was really funny. and sadly... we were the only people from maine. i was so happy about that. everyone there thought we were crazy and thought we were diehard fans... which we are, so it didnt matter. howie day played... he was horrible... i was very dissapointed in that man. oh well. dashboard was absolutely amazing. of course, like always.

...to be continued...
