Erika showed me this really fascinating article: Gay medieval Anglo-Saxon warriors FTW!

Just kidding, they weren't necessarily lovers, just "brothers in arms." (Wink wink, nudge nudge.) I love how people thought they were husband and wife until they were like, "Oh wait, those are both male skeletons." Awww ( Read more... )

What melodies36 said. It's a phrase fanboys/fangirls use to describe their favorite fictional pairing.

And the fact that I know that (and have used the phrase) shows what a huge geek I am.

Hehe, I feel like I should have had the second skeleton reply something like, "Gah, I'm so sick of that joke, you've been telling it for the last 1000 years." XD

You're not alone in how you feel when you see remains. I'm fascinated and it is never weird or gross or anything that other people might think. I have always thought skeletons were cool...some might say I have an obsession. :D

Skeletons are definitely cool! So are mummies. I'm not sure how I feel about actual dead bodies that aren't completely decomposed yet, though. That's why I like archaeology, because the remains you deal with are usually very old and therefore not as disturbing or icky anymore. XD
