Things have been a bit better since my last update. I got my computer back today, finally -- which means I can finally start searching for jobs and working on my novel again, the two things I needed to do the most. I actually did work on the novel some while my computer was broken; in fact I think not having it was somewhat helpful, because I wrote quite a bit of Chapter One by hand, and spent a lot of my free time reading instead of just looking at random, distracting things on the net. I got back to how I used to read and write when I was a kid, before I had a computer. So I'm hoping that even though I have my computer back now (and I've spent the last three hours catching up on the last two episodes of The L Word, haha), I'll continue to practice a good work ethic when it comes to my novel.

I found some job listings on Craigslist and other places that look like positions I could do or would want to do, and Erika's sent me a few promising-looking links as well. So we'll see how that goes. I just know that I need to leave Sunflowers -- not only because I'm really sick of the job itself, but also because I really need something that's better paying. The tips are nice, and I make enough to pay my rent and buy food, but even still $8 per hour just doesn't cut it. I feel too old, too educated and too driven to work such a mindless job for such low wages. My main thing is that I need to save money; I need to buy a car, and that just won't happen any time soon with the kind of money I'm making now, even with how frugal I am. Dammit, I hate money issues.

Erika and I are newly addicted to The Tudors, the Showtime show about Henry VIII. She bought the first season at Target last week and we watched the entire thing in just two days. It's such a guilty pleasure; there's so much gratuitous sex and parts of it are so historically inaccurate, but on the other hand, I'm not really complaining about the copious amounts of nudity. ;) Plus it's well-acted (I especially love the actress who plays Katherine of Aragon -- she portrays her so sympathetically), and I'm a sucker for the time period.

I'll write more later, but right now I'm just too busy going "ZOMG COMPUTER BACK!!!!11!!1" to really concentrate.

P.S. Erika and I really aren't lovers, despite what it seems like due to my constant talking about her on here. XD We did come up with a term to describe our relationship, though -- we're more than friends, not quite lovers, and not biological sisters, so we decided that we're each others' "flusters." Spread the term around, people, we want it to catch on. ;)
