It's Lewis Carroll's birthday. He was born on January 27, 1832 and died on January 14, 1898. When I was a kid, I would practically celebrate his birthday like it was a holiday -- that, and May 4 and November 4, because those are the dates that the events in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass take place, respectively. (Ah, the things you learn from reading The Annotated Alice.) I was, and am, such a nerd.
I think in honor of his birthday I'll re-read one or both of the Alice books, since it's been awhile. :)
