The Him and the Her of One More Night
It is dark and cold.
Basement bedroom.
Bare feet upon red carpet.
A breeze enters through the blinds.
William Orbit on the stereo: "Adagio for Strings". Remix.
Bare feet leave red carpet.
Drowning into blood red sheets. Soft.
His body will not rest alone tonight. Human contact. Her heat.
He let her have her way. Always her way. The only way.
Lips touched flesh and body spasms knocked books off shelves.
Her tongue found his nerve and she drank him down deep.
She made her mark. Scarred him. Marred him. She owned him.
Not forever. Not tomorrow. For now. For one more night.
He tasted of perfection. She could not get enough. Ever.
Morning rain like holy water washed away the night before.
She spent hours staring at the glow of the sun. On his naked body.
She closed her eyes to believe this dream. He opened his.
He saw her still. Sleep. Having given all she had.
He took note of her snore. Her position. Her hair upon his pillow.
Morning after spent in bed. Face to face. A pillow apart.
The future was outside the room. Waiting to take them away.
Secrets spilled out upon delicious flesh and the day dragged on.
Alone. They left the room together. Like lovers.
She had a habit of loving the ones she could not have.
He had the habit of having the ones he could not love.
This was the Him and the Her of One More Night
