What to say... I wrote a fairly long entry just now, but when I clicked "update journal" I got a "page cannot be displayed" screen, and my whole entry was lost. Arrrgh.
Anyway.. Sunday night. One minute I'm sitting here listening to Therion, next thing I know I am consumed to a rift in temporal reality and am suddenly eating waffles Monday morning in Segundo Dining Commons. Okay not really... the rift in reality only lasted for about the half hour I was lying on my bed listening to Therion, and deposited me in Segundo around 20:00. There were then only mild ripples in existence for awhile thereafter. I also realized the meaning of life but have since forgotten it. And I swear I don't do drugs. (= O
Finding myself in the area of Bixby (one of four "high rise" five floor dorm buildings in Segundo) I visited my friend Beta up on floor four. We marauded downtown on foot, visited the two movie theatres (which coincidentally are owned by the same company), determined nothing worth seeing was showing, and ate at In-N-Out. Returning to Bixby, we watched The Usual Suspects.
Several beers (Until the only remaining
cold ones were American beer, psha on that) and half an hour or Rocky Horror Picture Show later, Beta gave me the boot in favor of sleeping.
Thereupon I went upstairs to the fifth floor Bixby pirate lair of Vanessa, where the aforementioned was redying her hair pink. In a plot to pillage the DC waffles in the morning I crashed there, and the next morning we did indeed pillage the DC waffles. Now if you are not familiar with DC waffles, well, frankly, your life is miserable and pointless. (= We then listened to Eddie Izzard while I played with Vanny's slinky.
And now, now I sit in the red glow of my room here at 19:27, monday night, listening to Therion, and drinking Earl Grey tea. Good times.
Bixby, Bixby, Bixby. My adventures here at UC Davis began in Bixby ye know. When I was a wee lad, a senior in high school, when the world was young and giant snails still roamed the Earth and were worshipped as gods -by people other than just me- I came up to see what this "You See Dayvis" thing was all about. My friend and former neighbor from Back Home, Allison was then living in Bixby and gave me a tour of campus. My conception of reality was subsequently permenantly altered the next day by that thing which is Picnic Day at UC Davis.
