Crazy. I didn't know you went to UCLA. I think you're on my contact list.. I'll drop you a line next time I'm in town. Hasn't it been like six years since I've seen you?

Dude, LAX was fine that night- you're weird

trust me, in LA, riots are usually fairly well confined by a horible transit system. For example, at 5:35 AM Saturday morning, I can make it to UCLA in under 15 minutes. At 12 Pm in the afternoon on any day of the week- this goes into 1 and a half hours. (on freeways)

In other words

you bastard. you were at UCLA and LAX- both mere minutes from my apartment, and didn't stop by? you whore.

hm. I really had no idea where your "loyola" place was located. I think I imagined it on some rocky cliff in northern california - with lightning.

"At 4:35pm I left from LAX without incident, mere hours before the climatic UCLA/USC game would no doubt turn the area into a riotous inferno."

***This reference is to the intersection of Landfair and Strathmore (?) where, if UCLA were to win the SC game, especially unexpectedly, numerous couches and other student paraphernalia would be exuberantly torched in celebration of the outrageously fine turn of events.

Glögg is not "a warm apple cider with wine and other things added." It is spiced red wine. Traditionally it was additionally spiked with vodka and set aflame under some suspended sugar, which carmelized and dripped into the mixture. It has nothing to do with apples except that it is traditionally (?) served with apple pastries according to the linked wikipedia article. Minus 1.5 culture points. Minus another 3 points for negligence.

mmmm... glögg. that was good glögg... made from sweet dry vermouth, red wine, some cinammon, sugar, and some other things.. singing while intoxicated was really fun.

That's what Eastern Europeans do with absinth (it's a typical foreign bar pick-up tactic). Did you ever end up trying that when you were overseas?
