The young boy sat on the edge of the cliff as the water bellow glittered with orange and colds as the sun sank beneath the horizon, his light blue hair was wet from the waves that crashed against the rock.A tear slowly started to trickle down his cheek as he sighs. His father had gone to war in the far away land of Madira in the south.
Earlier when the other soldier from his father came to his families door and gave his mother his fathers sword because they had already buried him on the land he died fighting on. His mother had erupted into tears on the door step, but he chose to go out to the cliff and mourn by himself silently, where no one could see the tears running from his deep green eyes.
A breeze was starting to build as the sun sank deeper beneath the horizon and the short spikey quiffs of blue hair where starting to get blown around. In the last light he could see smoke rising from the small island in the distance. The war was drawing nearer.
He slowly got to his feet and pulled the leather fingerless forarm and hand guards up a little to try covering his bare arms a little more as it started to get colder. His father had brought these back when he was on leave from when he was fighting a little closer to home. He had barely took them off since, and now it suddenly dawned on him that maybe these small peaces of armour and his fathers sword where all that was left of his familys warrior legacy. His father had never taught him how to fight.
By the time he reached his village it was completely dark the sky had clouded over and the rain was starting to fall heavily. His mothers house was the only one with a light on. She was probably waiting for him to come home, but he spotted more than one shadow near the window, and one was like nothing he had ever seen before.
He rushed to the door of the house which was lieing wide open and ran in. A thin ragged clothed, creature with long blades sticking out the stumps where its fingers should be and a scope which turned and flickered as it turned from scaring his mother to look at him. A frightening smile appeared on the dried up slit that it had for a mouth revealing a row of pointed teeth.
His fathers sword lay unsheathed on the kitchen table. He lunged to grab it but the creature despite its appearance moved quickly and slashed at the table cutting at one off the legs and cutting it into 3 peaces and a stump that was attatched to the table.
"Watch out Heero!" His mother called out as tears streamed down her cheeks. "I don't want to loose a son aswell as a husband in the same day."
Heero moved as fast as he could after the sword which had slid across the floor as the table hit the floor. The creature lunged at him and he jumped into the corner that the sword had slid into and grabbed it tightly by the hilt. He swung wildly at the creature cutting its side open and it let out a terrible shreak and back away.
He started swinging towards the creature more furiously causing it to back into the village street into the darkness and them out of site. Heero ran back into the house and quickly pulled the door shut. His mother collapsed in the corner crying her heart out.....
