Well I just read Shaya's review of (lol...or diatribe about) Fahrenheit 9/11...and I felt obligated to defend Mikey at least a little...

First off...every one of Moore's movies will look narrow-minded and poorly supported because he focuses on how these mass and global decisions affect the individual...you're not going to see that woman crying hysterically and asking Allah to raze the American soldiers houses on the evening news...just like you're not going to hear about the old man who got a visit from the feds because he was talking smack about the administration...these are people who would otherwise looked over...everyone loves to hear what that fucker O'Reilly and Hannity & Colmes and Franken have to say about the war...but who the hell cares? they're millionaires who are as seperated from the war in Iraq as the president is...

which leads to your attack on Moore for making money off of September 11th...Moore makes documentaries about fucked up stuff in the world...if Halliburton and all the oil companies hadn't made money off of September 11th in the first place...Moore wouldn't have had a movie to make...and would have made a film about the condition the American prison system or something...not that this is an issue anyway...because despite the title of the film...it had very little on the whole to do with September 11th...it's like Bowling for Columbine...it's not necessarily about Columbine...but the type of mentality that exists that makes Columbine-like things possible...

as for Germany's depressed economy...that was someone else's fault...the US, France, and Great Britain for raping Germany through reparations...

and the reason for the mangled bodies and American coffins is those are the things that the US won't show on TV...that's the side of war that you don't see when you're at home in your living room or shooting out of a metal death machine that costs millions of dollars and listening to the words "Let the bodies hit the floor" over and over in your head....

on the other hand...Moore does take a lot of really cheap shots and uses some editing that really is just lying...and he did really fuck over The Man (Ray Bradbury)...but Shaya...that black screen makes up for it all...I don't want to give it away if you haven't seen it...but it is the most cinematically effective technique I have ever seen...anyway...if you love Bush or hate him you should see this movie...hell...ESPECIALLY if you love or hate Bush...cuz like Bowling for Columbine...this film isn't even about Bush...it isn't about Republicans or Democrats...and ultimately it's not even about terrorism...it's about America...
