Pretending to be very sensitive to light, a young woman never takes off her outsize sunglasses in which her admirers are annoyed at seeing only their own smiles. Measured unwittingly, confronted by their own caricature when they look for some encouragement (but not giving up hope of overcoming the distance at which they think they're being kept playfully), how could they help feeling particularly gauche?
Yet the young woman can make out only blurry figures stirring about. Three-quarters blind form an accident, and using all her coquetry not to let it be seen, she feels herself exposed defenceless to their eyes.
