Rant alert

Feel free to skip this, shall do a proper entry in a bit.

Why on earth would you say to a class of students all doing the same course and the same essay that the more texts you get in your reference list the higher the mark will be??? Especially when you stress the importance of using the core texts and there are only four of these texts in the library, we are a class of 25ish and it is a subject such as law where plenty of other people will be needing these texts (law students obviously but also nursing, midwifery, medical etc. students)!!!?????

Argh so as you can tell a little stressed. Wish now I had never gone ot the blumming seminar she gave yesterday on this topic. Everyone's going to be having the same problems. I've thankfully got one of the core texts from the library but all the others are gone. Have one here that I bought at the start of term but the others that I have ordered from Amazon show no sign of January but still! Oh and one of the core books isn't even in the flipping library. Although she never even probably thought about that particular possible problem!!

She successfully managed to seriously stress me out about the whole essay, whereas Philosophy lecturer totally relaxed me about the exam, feel quite happy about that and can practically guess the questions now. Essay wise am trying to ground myself again and remind myself I am not a typical student. I am not able currently to sit down and just reel off a first draft of the essay before Christmas. I will get it done but on my own terms and I will ignore her advice! I will also remember I only need to get a pass this year.

I suppose it was rather a shock after Philosophy. He walked in and said that so long as we've understood the lectures this term the exam will be no different and we'll be fine. Law went the other way basically saying that even if we'd got the lectures we may not even get a pass.

Rant over!
