Letter meme

Comment and I'll give you a letter, then list 10 things you love that start with that letter.

tthjinni gave me the letter 'H'.

1. hon - it's weird, 'cause this is totally a 'net thing, my calling everyone hon. The one time I did it in RL I got weird looks... but these days it's almost automatic... and I think it was me that started it off on the Roomies threads ;)

2. ham - T was asking me last night why I wasn't a veggie. I answered 'cause I couldn't live without meat - at which he was confused - what meat do I eat? The basic answer was pig... and the odd bit of beef (for spag bol, etc.) So, ham... wasn't a fan til about four, maybe five years ago when my cousin's wife made one for boxing day lunch that year... and I ate large amounts with stilton. Which is why, when I have ham and cheese sandwiches, I still eat ham and stilton (not cheddar).

3. history - I'm a total geek when it comes to history. I love it - which would explain why I'm still at uni doing postgrad stuff (it's not just an excuse to avoid the real world that little bit longer). It's been a passion of mine since I was about 12... and it's always seemed a little odd to me 'cause I also love the sci-fi.

4. house - as in the TV show and the character. It's one of the shows I'm waiting for on TV over here, so I've only seen up to the end of season 2. Originally it was a novelty... to see Hugh Laurie as something other than his characters in Blackadder. But I love it, and House. He's so very sarcastic and funny. And for an old guy, he's kinda hot.

house (high as a kite house):

5. hodges - Hodges of CSI fame. He's a snarking, shameless suck up. But he's funny - and everyone needs the full experience. ;) The little dance he did in a recent episode was awesome. I also get the feeling they're attempting to flesh out the character a bit more these days ;)

Hodges (does a little dance):

6. hot chocolate - my hot drink of choice. No caffiene for me (migraines). Chocolate in liquid form. Chocolate that keeps you warm. At home I prefer Cadbury's drinkign chocolate made with milk. Out and about... Cafe Nero's... or one of those gorgeous melted chocolate drinks. yum.

7. Hood, Robin - the latest BBC incarnation of the legend. I love it. It's very cheesy in places, totally historically inaccurate in others, but I still love it. And it's not just the hot guys and the slashy possibilities all over the place. Or the fact that it almost had me shouting at the screen 'tree!porn!' and 'threesome!' in the last episode, one in which two of the main characters (Robin and Sir Guy) spent about two thirds of it rolling around the forest floor on top of each other... fighting of course, it is shown in the same time slot at DrWho. It also has Much. Therefore it is awesome. And then of course, there's the Sheriff - Keith Allen rules - pillowtalk ;)

Much:

Allan (he's got nice eyes, don't he? and he's not even the pretty one of the 3some):

Robin and the Sheriff:

8. home - which, for me, is a state of mind. By the time I was 7 I'd lived in six different houses in two countries. The house I lived in the longest (9 school years) we moved away from when I was still fifteen. The house my parents and brother live in we moved to two months before I started uni - these days I still have to ask where stuff is whenever I go home for the holidays. So, a state of mind, it felt like home the other week when Mum and Dad visited. At times in the last few years my uni house felt like home with B, T and the boys (apart from the snafu with exFH) but even that's not truly 'home'. Home is something I don't do well without during holiday seasons - as was proved by Easter this year when my brother was too ill for me to be allowed at home.

9. Harper, Dr. Owen - so I could have gone for the obvious (Jack Harkness) but this is one I wanted to explain. After the first two episodes I was not a fan. At all. Did not like the Owen. I think a lot of my liking for him has to do with his interactions with Gwen. Plus the fact that I even liked the guy when he was Guppy in Bleak House!

Owen (with Gwen... and that'd be Ianto in the background):

10. Hopes and Fears - Keane's first album (or the first big hit anyway). This was my washing up album last year (along with Faithless' greatest hits). It was something I could turn up loud and tune out the rest of the world whilst washing up - something I desperately needed at certain points last year. There's even a track on it that helped me get my head round last years mess on it - it hit when Mum was driving me back up from my uncle's to uni just after New Year - 'Can't Stop Now'. A track that told me to get on with life and to stop feeling guilty (which isn't going to happen... but it helped). It gives such a feeling of peace, like washing over you, even now. That, and it has 'Bedshaped', which is awesome!

Huh - so didn't think I'd manage ten. :D
