Today I am feeling good after my cycle in. Same route as yesterday but I was a bit more prepared for allllll the hill. Feeling a bit healthier too (still coming off the back of a cold so am a bit plegmtastic, which adds to bokiness exponentially). I'm hoping that it'll get easier as I get better so I will have the illusion of being fit when, in fact, I am just healthy.
And last night I went to see Seasick Steve. I wanted to keep him. Instead of having support bands, he had his support in the band, and they sometimes played their own songs so you had to watch and listen to them. In this way I have discovered Amy Lavere. I will listen to her album and report back, but live she is very good. Sounds throaty and lovely, a bit reminiscent of Cerys Matthews (of Catatonia fame).
As seems to be my habit these days, I ended up in the front row so actually got a really good view of the stage, which was really good. Seasick Steve has all these mad homemade instruments, possibly a throwback to his actual hobo days.
At the end, as I was buying Amy's CD, I noticed a swarming crowd - oh yes, Steve had come out to say hello. I shook his hand and he signed my ticket. Good times!
He says that the crowd in Scotland are a little bit mental.
That is all.
