if anyone's looking for a book to read, i strongly reccomend The Kite Runner.
i'm addicted to non fiction but this book made me apretiate stories again. maybe the reason i liked it so much was although it was fiction, it was clearly largely based on the author's own experiences growing up in afghanistan, and seeking refuge in america. i assume that while it's not a true story, it's likely a common one.
it's about afghanistan, during the end of the monarch, the russian occupation and under the taliban...it follows a man who came to america to escape the russian occupation.
it's so heart breaking and compelling. it's the authors first book and some how he's managed to address the huge questions of sin, sinner, duty, honour, and right action.
i'll read it again i'm sure.
