Metric absolutely sucked. I hated everything but the Islands set. God, Islands was fucking amazing. The show was just too excessive.

Islands were very good, I must agree, but metric will still remain one of my favorites, even if you are being super pretentious and think they suck.

Hahaha. Yeah. I actually went to the show for Islands (I'm also a huge fan of The Unicorns). I think Metric has a few really good songs, but - as I've said many times - they're just a generally mediocre band: too much repetitive synth, not enough decent song-writing. The concert only confirmed my assessment: they played a lot of the shitty tracks from "Live It Out", instead of more interesting songs from "Old World..."

But I could forgive that. What I couldn't forgive was just how fucking lame the actual concert was. I hated the lights, I hated the aggressive dancing, and I could not stand Metric's pretentious 10 minute long stretches of guitar strumming and mindless synth key pressing. I don't mind - nay, sometimes I love it - when bands whose aesthetic rests on that kind of instrumentation perform like that. Just. Not. Metric. It got boring really fast.
