basically...nonstop weekend. thursday i hung out with ang and alex [who made me a protein shake. we could talk whey all day] and then went to see the adam kevin etc. band play at the lake zurich theater before the midnight show of charlie and the chocolate factory. sneak 20 kids in the back door and then dedicate songs to us? sure, why not. and i gotta say, i supermuch liked the movie. very cute, very pretty, very visual. gotta love johnny depp, and not just cause he's hawt. and helena bonham carter too, [the fight club chick] who i would so turn bi for.

"Everything here is eatable. I'm eatable, but that my children is called cannibalism and it is frowned upon in most societies."

we got backs 'round 3ish, then mr.brian and i walked around til quarter to five in the ay em. i discovered how super-coordinated i am at the new skatepark they built by my house--i fell off this pole less than a foot off the ground and gave myself a beautiful purplely-black bruise the size of kansas on my hip. its ok tho, cause it didnt hurt, and it matches my hair.

woke up 3 hours later to go to breakfast [tea and coffee?] with the lovely tracy. we got dressed telepathically together [black skirts, bright tank tops, and cutesieness] and yakked and i love that chick :)

went home, saw brian for a bit, went to his show later with the long-lost megan leith. once we started dancing, it was ridiculous fun. megan and i were pretty sure we were the oldest kids there...until somebody's grama came in. woohoo! and later we saw some kid's mom skanking. i think the best part was the little 11-year old kids, all dressed in their punkish clothes, so tiny we couldn't tell whether they were boys or girls. anyhow, we danced, operetta rocked the house, everyone was covered in sweat, we walked two buildings down to krispy kreme to get cups of ice water and they offered us free donuts [no thanks. nobody should want one of those after skanking.]

after only 3 hours of sleep and mad dancing at night, i was a lil' tired. nearly fell asleep at ihop later, but it was a nice drive cause the sound guy had recorded them...so we listened to the concert again :)

stayed up and chatted with my awesome little brother for a while [scary stories, but everything turned out for the bestest]. slept til 2 the next day...probably the longest i've slept since the days after crazy u of i parties. went and got new cell phones with the family [sad! no more rainbow phone with tape all over the back! the ghetto-mobile has been retired.] but the new phone is flippy and has red lights.

saw hitchiker's guide to the galaxy with mr.brian [i liked it. another neato visual movie. cutely compulsive story too, and a surprisingly suberb vocabulary.] and then went to a show at a bar in mount prospect [what? mount prospect has bars?! yeah, and apparently it has some pretty hilarious slightly-white-trashy people too...specifically one drunk lady wearing one of those tank tops with arm holes down to her waist.] the show was ok, brian's friend's band was pretty cool [lead bass = unique sound] but i could've done without the heavy metal band after them. they weren't bad, definitely talented guys, but ... loud.

later we watched fear and loathing in las vegas, which solified johnny depp as my favorite actor [jian-wei's tooooo]. freaking awesome two hours of visuals and hunter s. thompson hilariousness and cynicism and freak outs and PCP and acid and lots of ether.

"We can't stop here. This is bat country."

aaand this morning i went shopping with my lil' sister, finally found houndstooth shoes and a kickass hat, and then went out to lunchy with pretty. shared sad stories and left laughing. i love my friends :)

did i really just recap my whole weekend? almost all of it. kind of not as much fun of an entry to read. oh well. it was a fun entry to live.

ps come party with us next weekend for brenda and adam's birthdays. 40+ people in 3 apartments? going to maybe be a little crazy :-P
