middle school makes me so happy :)
first day of observing in jefferson middle school. conclusion? i love middle school kids. and this school is so great-the reading teacher im with is uber-focused on celebrating diversity, and her class is a pretty good mix. warm fuzzy feelings abound :-D
and on a less positive note, here's a comment from my writing teacher in respsonse to a paper i wrote...
"...I think the predominant [ou call it 'status quo'] ways that writing gets taught make a good deal of sense given what we, as a culture, think schools, education, and writing are for. Self expression? The development of complex thinking? Artistry? No those don't strike me as central cultural values, so then why would most writing classes be any different?"
i could not BE more psyched about my future classroom. all that's gonna change :)
going home this weekend to see my lil sibs get all prettied up for homecoming, and to see mr brian's show OI!
