So, I went to my first (non-local) show last night, here's how it went.

We get in right when Stole your Woman starts, and hang out by the merch for a few minutes until I hear them starting to play Lets Eat Lots which is my favorite by them. So we go in and the rest of their set is pretty uneventful. They did play Neverending and a funny song called Nice Shoes lets Fuck.

Next was Maxeen, which was the only band that I hadn't heard of before then. Not much to say there other than that they were great. They had a guitarist and a bassist with an distortion pedal which was strange but rad. We pushed our way to the front during their set and got front row for the last song. Travis, Anya, and Nuria got their autographs and Travis bought the Cd after the show.

Matchbook Romance. Holy shit. That was the best time I ever had. My first time in the front row at a show, first time I went in a mosh pit, and a fucking good time for all. They played three songs I knew and one I didn't. (Hollywood and Vine, Promise, The Greatest Fall (of all time) Their bassist came by and talked to us before the set started and he was a pretty rad guy. We pretty much just yelled "Ryan you're the fucking man" And he threw us lots of water and picks and such. That kid can fucking rock the bass. Crazy. I definatally lost my voice during that set.

In Between Matchbook Romance and Yellowcard everyone slept on whoever was in front of them to regain some energy.

Yellowcard was great. Everyone went crazy when they just walked on stage (the violinist was sporting a Co&Ca shirt which I thought was awesome). It was a lot like Matchbook Romances set exept instead of 10 of us singing it was everyone, and instead of jumping into each other we just jumped up and down. They played Breathing, Ocean Avenue, Avondale, Powder, Way Away, Empty Apartment, and that one where he says Dad after every sentence. Very good times.
