things have been falling into place pretty well lately.

I've learned a lot in the past few months. i've really been stepping out of my comfort zone with my work, in several ways.  first off, i work entirely by myself every day, so i have been forced to do my own thing and be my own boss. secondly, i am in the ghetto all day and have to work very directly with people for literally the first time in my life; on top of surveying (which is difficult enough), i have to deal with really angry and depressed people who talk to me about things like gang shootings, losing jobs, police brutality, domestic violence, and eating one meal a day for months at a time. i feel that it has really been a learning experience for me, and hopefully i have been able to help the people i'm surveying in some small way. by the way, if anyone cares about the research i am doing, here is a link to the principal investigator's testimony to the house committee on housing and community opportunity: docs.google.com/gview

that job is winding down, and i just got a sweet new one as a housing counselor with the rogers park community development corporation, where i'll be helping low- and middle-income people get affordable housing as well as stopping predatory lending in chicago.  stoked on that.

sweet new crib in avondale with nusko.  i love the neighborhood, and the place. we never have people over though.  housewarming party pending.

other than that, i haven't really been doing a ton other than taking it easy, staying positive and hanging out with ali and eva a lot. things are going all right.
