all you anti-war people...quit protesting just to have something to protest. you can't do a damn thing about what's happening so just shut up and show support for the men and women going over there to fight for YOU. you say the reason you protest is to get the troops home when in reality all you wanna do is protest bush. it's not fair that the ( Read more... )

First, I’m sorry you take it as a personal insult that I don’t believe our troops’ lives should be risked when it isn’t absolutely necessary. And it is an outrage about the guy killing someone and injuring 13 others- but he isn’t a reflection of the normal people against the war. And I’m proud of your brother and all of the troops over there. I’m not saying that they are doing anything wrong or that we shouldn’t support them. the people against the war don’t “not give a shit”- they, or I at least, want our troops home. And about what the Iraqis are doing to us- we declared war on them, that’s what happens when countries are at war. People, innocent people, die. brutally. They break Geneva Convention agreements, we disregard the policies of the UN- it’s all in the name of war. tit for tat. And did I ever say I supported saddam or his regime? No. but that doesn’t mean we should jump into war with them. And how can you say “blow the fucking place to bits”?! that’s just as cruel as saddam. I understand that this is a million times more emotional for you with your brother over there, but I’m gonna have to say I’d prefer not to talk politics with you at all anymore. I can deal with disagreement, but if you are comparing protesters to the war with a saddam supporter, and if I’m giving you the impression that I don’t give a shit or am “too busy protesting to educate myself on what is really going on” and calling me an “antiwar fag” then forget it. I won’t debate with someone who throws degrading and offensive insults. And I don’t get my information from MTV, thanks. I have a mind of my own and I do my own research. I don’t want to step on your toes and I would rather not be called childish names- so you win, I withdraw.

i, nor anyone else on this journal called YOU anything. you jumped in after all those things were said. nothing was directed towards you. no one said YOU get your information from mtv. no one was debating with you anyways. you decided to put yourself in it and allow yourself to be called those names. you yourself said you weren't completely against it, so anti war fag or any of that would not apply to you anyways. i'm just a little angry right now that they're breaking laws of war and our own soldiers are risking my brothers' life. i wasn't comparing war protestors to saddam supporters. the man who threw a grenade into the tent at camp pennsylvania WAS a saddam supporter. i should know, it came straight from the horse's mouth considering it happened to my brother's brigade. my family is dealing with a lot right now and its great that you don't care.

saddam had 12 years to comply with the UN's demands and he had fair warning to get his shit straight. nowhere does it say that we must do what the UN says. we created the UN for god sake. us disregarding the UN's demands is no excuse for showing dead or injured POWs and treating them inhumanely for all the world to see, which is breaking a clear rule of war. and since when is everyone against the war so concerned with the well being of iraqi people? no one cared when saddam was torturing and murdering them before. anyways, the collateral damage so far has been little or none. these have been the most precise attacks ever in the history of warfare and every single precaution is being taken to avoid civilian deaths. they are being 100% more cruel to us, speaking of P.O.W.s, sneak attacks and dirty little tricks. but then again that's all their sorry asses have to defend themselves.

my point...it was your choice to take everything so personally and nothing was put in your face nor was your name every mentioned in any of this debate. i for one and going to stand by my brother, the troops and my country with full gratitude for the things they are doing and have done for me in the past, regardless of the circumstances.
