Shootin Up & Takin Names

So, i got my shit together with my blood sugars and all. Its hard sometimes, because I feel fine, even though my sugars are high, so I forget or ignore the fact that I need to take that shot after I eat...And I did that for a wee bit too long sending my A1C up to 7.8.

But, I wanted another tattoo, and the only reason diabetics get infections with them is because they don't have their sugars under control, but if you have good control, you are at no more risk of infection than Jane Doe, so long as you take care of it proper and went to a proper place.

So I kicked my A1C's ass, and got it down to 6.6, which is normal range for us insulin addicts. Woot! If I weren't diabetic, normal would be 5 or so.

The only bad thing about my recent blood work is my HDL being too low, which is my good cholesterol. I put olive oil in everything i can to get my omega 3's (because FUCK fish oil, EW!) but its not enough, so I have to get off my lazy ass and get more cardio.

So more long walks uphill for me. After nightfall of course.

I decided not to do the gym thing. Its too expensive. We got a wii, so we're gonna save up for the wii fit package, which costs about the first 3 months of a membership with NYSC. So...yea, better ideas lol

And there's plenty of places to walk in Harrison.

My dad tried to be a dick about my new tattoo, but I kind of shut him down and didn't give him a chance, besides, he wouldn't throw a tempertantrum in front of the florist we might book for the wedding.... timing is everything. I won't get started on my rant about him and the ink.

well...an hour and 20 minutes left of the work day...and its fucking dragging. gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Ok so I decided to come back and write more to kill more time. Bout an hour left now.

Tomorrow night we're going up to Tom's for his birthday. Good times. Eugene is making him a suprise cake that looks like a beer can. Eug is awesome because not only does he come up with great ideas, he's great at executing them as well. Bastard lol

Lets see...so tonight we'll probably veg out. Tomorrow morning-afternoon we are gonna clean up the apartment, bake the cake, revamp the gerbils' tanks, possibly take me shopping for exercise worthy clothing annnnd then its up to Tom's.

Sunday will be spent recouperating lol With a routine diner trip when we all finally regain consciousness.

The weekends go too fast anymore.

Oh, we have everything done for the wedding except for the invitations (which don't go out until a few months before, but the save a dates are in the mail now), the florist (which we are looking at now), annnd oh and the bells. You know how when everyone wants the bride and groom to kiss, they ring bells or tap the glasses? Well, since its a Beltane wedding with a sort of underlying Fairy theme, I'm ordering wands from oriental trading company, and bells, and personalized ribbon and tying the bells onto the wands with the ribbon. They'll be like 5 per table or something. That I have to do.

But everything's pretty much done. My gown alterations are in Feb. We apparently don't do the cake thing until a few months before so thats that. We're making a donation in lieu of a favor for Diabetic Rockstar/Fight-it, so I designed cards for that and Fight-it is reimbursing me (i got 200 personalized note cards for 45 bucks...thats with shipping, great deal!)...

Oh, I am now the regional director and a moderator for Diabetic Rockstar.com/Fight-It. Pretty cool.

Eugene got a raise this past week, pretty sweet.

I adopted a soldier. I'm anti this war but not anti-soldier. So I sent my Sgt a bunch of stuff he wanted for himself and his soldiers. Mostly toiletries and stuff. I burned him some cds and stuff too.

well...I've officially run out of things to babbel about.

Life is pretty damn good.

Love,

Dee
