Caliban is outside, actually, sitting by the lake and rather deep in thought, though it's not clear even to him whether he's happy or not, knees drawn up to his chest and staring at the water, pitching rocks every so often.

He's kind of wanting to see people, actually - he's feeling better than he usually does. Probably because of the brother.

Anita certainly isn't sneaking up on him. She'll just plop by and smile. "Hey, kiddo."

He gives her a little sort of smile back. "Hey."

She puts a companionable arm around his shoulders. "Brooding again?"

"No, just thinking."

Maybe a little.

"Thinking? What a horrible idea. Seriously - you'd think it's the most dreadful thing in the world." A dramatic pause. "What about?"

He just turns his head and gives her one of those exasperated 'what are you on' looks that teenagers are so good at.

Which only makes her laugh more.

On Clay, Henry and Sam, is what she is, Cal.

He'd stare even more if he knew that!

"Jesus Christ, Anita," not quite mildly.

She kisses his cheek, then, teasing and sister-like. "Yeah, that's me. Jesus Christ Anita." She points to the cross, at her neck.

He half smiles. "Little less holy, though."

"Excommunicated, as a matter of fact."

Eyebrows. "Whoa. Catholic, then?"

"Episcopalian, now. Alyosha says it doesn't matter, and I can still go to church."

[emocaliban]

"Yeah. I dunno, seems like if God's as great as everyone says he is he wouldn't care about...stuff that much."

[tomboy_22]

A nod. "That's what Alyosha says." A fond smile. "He's a saint."

A gay saint, but whatever.

Caliban almost smiles. "Actually? Or in the hyperbolic sense."
