Chicken of the Night

Nov 14, 2021 09:47

Β Β Β Here's a rather kafkaesque situation about some chicken in Venezuela yesterday. The original conversation is in Spanish so this has been plugged through google translate which is why the syntax is sometimes even weirder than I usually speak, and "a chicken" would probably normally be "some chicken" but I think the rendering of "a chicken" makes it much funnier. Time's shown are Caracas time.

[11/12, 11:18 PM] Kris: What do you do my love?
[11/12, 11:18 PM] Cristina: Waiting for a chicken to be delivered
[11/12, 11:18 PM] Cristina: πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
[11/12, 11:19 PM] Cristina: But at night I feel a little bad due to the cold
[11/12, 11:19 PM] Kris: πŸ”πŸ”πŸ”
[11/12, 11:19 PM] Kris: πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—
[11/12, 11:19 PM] Cristina: They sold a chicken economically through the government
[11/12, 11:19 PM] Cristina: I'm waiting to look for it [buscarlo, I'm not sure about the exact connotations of the word, she apparently went down to the building lobby to wait for the delivery, buscarlo seems to connote going for something as an errand]
[11/12, 11:20 PM] Kris: πŸ”πŸ₯³
[11/12, 11:30 PM] Cristinas: It's so late now
[11/12, 11:32 PM] Kris: Yes my love
[11/12, 11:32 PM] Kris: Will you sleep?
[11/12, 11:32 PM] Kris: Do you work tomorrow?
[11/12, 11:32 PM] Cristina: I have to wait for the chicken
[11/12, 11:32 PM] Kris: πŸ”πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
[11/12, 11:33 PM] Kris: Chicken arrives so late
[11/12, 11:33 PM] Kris: πŸ”β±οΈβ±οΈβ±οΈ
[11/12, 11:33 PM] Cristina: Tomorrow I had to work but since I have the flu I will not go
[11/12, 11:33 PM] Kris: πŸ”πŸ•™πŸ•šπŸ•›
[11/12, 11:34 PM] Kris: πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

[11/13, 08:32 AM] Cristina: My love the chicken arrived late
[11/13, 08:34 AM] Kris: what time did it arrive?
[11/13, 09:03 AM] Cristina: About 2 in the morning
[11/13, 09:04 AM] Cristina: They give me Indra's chicken [Indra is her best friend and lives in the same building] and it turns out that Indra didn't pay for it and then those people calling all night to return Indra's chicken
[11/13, 09:04 AM] Cristina: πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
[11/13, 09:04 AM] Cristina: A rather uncomfortable situation
[11/13, 09:04 AM] Kris: Venezuela is a crazy place, where the chicken arrives at 2 in the morning. πŸ”πŸ™ˆ
[11/13, 09:05 AM] Kris: 😱
[11/13, 09:05 AM] Kris: This is crazy
[11/13, 09:05 AM] Cristina: Yes
[11/13, 09:05 AM] Cristina: And Indra paid for it later
[11/13, 09:06 AM] Cristina: But the problem continued and Indra told me to return her chicken
[11/13, 09:06 AM] Kris: πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ
[11/13, 09:07 AM] Kris: Did you return the chicken?
[11/13, 09:07 AM] Cristina: Yes
[11/13, 09:07 AM] Kris: πŸ™ˆ
[11/13, 09:08 AM] Kris: Does it cost much?
[11/13, 09:08 AM] Cristina: Less than $ 1
[11/13, 09:08 AM] Cristina: I tried to return the chicken but they didn't accept it because Indra paid later
[11/13, 09:08 AM] Kris: But you got your chicken?
[11/13, 09:09 AM] Kris: Did you get a chicken too or was it only a chicken for indra?
[11/13, 09:11 AM] Cristina: I received my chicken and Indra's
[11/13, 09:12 AM] Kris: πŸ”πŸ”
[11/13, 09:35 AM] Kris: Is it good chicken?
[11/13, 09:37 AM] Cristina: No ajajaja
[11/13, 09:38 AM] Cristina: I paid for it because my mother wanted me to buy it
[11/13, 09:38 AM] Cristina: But the situation was uncomfortable

Today she is sick. I have prescribed she should have chicken soup.
