On September 11th, 2001 we were attacked by terrorists from an organization known as Al Qaeda.
As the 6 year anniversary of these attacks occur I would like everyone to take a second and realize the innocent lives that were taken and the rescue workers that sacrificed their own lives so that others may live.
That morning 2,974 people died by attacks that struck the World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon, and one of our own aircraft. Had that plane not have been over-powered by the people inside , the causulties could have been even worse. Please remember their strength, courage, and resolve.
343 Firefighters and 60 NYPD and Port Authority Cops layed down their on lives tryin to get people out of the Twin Towers....There's is a heavy sacrifice, please remember them....
It doesnt matter if you're for the war or against the war....It doesnt matter if you didnt want us to go to Afghanistan, or you don't like the current Presidential Administration. We can all agree on the tragedy of this day.
The only time i've been to New York City was this past New Years, and I have yet to see the memorial site...I'm most likely going very soon with all the days off i have in September. If anyone would like to come i'd enjoy the company.
Dunno if you guys know this but the Yellowcard song "Believe" is about the Cops and Firefighters on Sept 11th, so...here ya go...
Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Climbing higher through the fire, time was running out
Never knowing you weren't going to be coming down alive
But you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Be strong. Believe.
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out
Let it all go, the life that you know, just to bring it down alive
And you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
(Again today, we take into our hearts and minds those who perished on this site one year ago, and also those who came to toil in the rubble to bring order out of chaos, to help us make sense of our despair)
Wanna hold my wife when I get home
Wanna tell the kids they'll never know how much I love to see them smile
Wanna make a change or two right now
Wanna live a life like you somehow
Wanna make your sacrifice worthwhile
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
(The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here)
