Towards the end of last summer, I went to the movies with a few of my friends as a last hurrah. We saw "Without a Paddle." After the movie, we were walking through the mall and one of the girls had a disposable camera so we were just taking crazy pictures. One of them was a naked manakin sitting outside a store and another was a movie poster. The others were just pictures of us together. Right after we took the picture of the movie poster a mall cop came up to us and started threatening to arrest us "because according to federal law, you can't take pictures of public buildings because of 9-11." Then he went on telling us about how we could get sent to a federal prison for 10-15 years for taking a few pictures. He then told us he wouldn't arrest us if we put the camera away and quietly left the mall. I don't know about my friends, but I knew he was full of shit, but we had to meet the mom of one of the girls because she was giving us a ride to where we were spending the night. So, we followed his directions. I told my dad on the way home the next morning. He laughed at first but then when I mentioned the thing about us going to prison, he asked if I got the guy's name. When I said I hadn't, he just said that we could probably get that guy in big trouble for threatening to arrest us - especially when we weren't causing any trouble and he can't arrest us since he's not a real cop.
That afternoon was absolutely wonderful.
