Are you lost mr. sea lion?
Today was alright, a little disappointing on the research front. Came in around 9, 9:30 and Dr. Driscoll wasn't in yet, so i finished reading the thesis he'd given me yesterday. He finally came in at some point but i decided to finish what i was reading. When i was done, i checked in with him, saying i was going to go to lunch then come back and talk to him about stuff.
i went and ate lunch outside, which was nice. Listened to my ipod and enjoyed the sun that wasn't my cold office. Went back in around 12. Driscoll wasn't there. So i went in my office and started reading through some of the random books that were around. Finally he showed up around 2:30 again. When i talked to him, he gave me another thesis to read through. Said tomorrow we'd start in on the lab stuff.

If i'd had that thesis at noon when i got back i could've been done with it already.
ah well. I left and stopped by the library to pick up a book on vector calculus and another one on plasma physics (the one that i couldn't find when i had gone earlier) and headed home to read some.
Then Brandi and Stephanie from next door came over to hang out with me isabella and stephanie from my room. We cooked dinner together and then went to walk to see if we could find the beach. It was already getting dark by the time we got there, and the cliff's were closed, so instead we met up with alex and ernie and drove down to prospect street and went to that beach that i'd gone to two years ago when we visited la jolla.
The seals were still in their little cove. Altho most of them were sleeping and not paying much attention to anything. Some of the younger ones were playing around in the water tho.
As we were getting ready to leave, this large animal pulled itself up on the beach. It took me a few minutes to figure out what it was (it was dark, and not all that close). It was a sea lion. We then watched it as it scared the little ones away and the adults just kinda lay on the ground playing dead. I don't know if sea lions and seals don't like each other, but the sea lion was making a lot of noise and i would've been mad at him for interrupting my sleepy time.
After that we headed back home and now i'm going to go to bed and sleep happily. :)
