Transmission to Obi-Wan [Thursday evening, Room 405]

Jan 26, 2006 17:43

Anakin sat down at his desk to write a letter home. It had been a busy week.

He'd been doing research on Rory's middle name and winning a secret date with her. But he couldn't tell Obi-Wan that.

Hmm. He could talk about exploring the rooms on the sixth floor. And classes were always pretty safe. And he should probably tell Obi-Wan that he hadn't been elected to office.

Master--

I hope that the Council hasn't been keeping you too busy. Classes are going very well. We had a very interesting discussion in the psychology class I was telling you about regarding archetypes in a movie--a holonet-type technology on this world--that had some very interesting themes. Set in a galaxy far, far away, of course, but the professor spoke about the universal themes of a young man being trained by a wise elder. I think you would have enjoyed it, even if I found the wise elder to be cryptic to the point of being completely useless. The mandatory evil villain was positively menacing. We also took a personality quiz--it was very interesting. And yes, you can tell Master Windu that I do indeed have a personality. I know he's been wondering.

I mentioned you in a homework assignment for Professor Tick. We have been talking about heroes and villains this week--you were one of the heroes I brought up. Among many, many, many other names, so don't think I like you that much or anything. I had to talk about the Sith as well, but since no one here knows what a Sith is, I don't think I scared any of them accidentally.

Journalism might have been a bit of a mistake, Master. Something came up in a class that, um, made the professor think that I was homosexual and hiding behind the rules of the Order. So I went to the library here--did you know that they have a Holocron of Yoda's address to the Senate about the Chosen One here, Master? This school really does have everything--to check out a datapad on Jedi philosophy to show her the part of the Code that forbids, well, you know. It didn't work out as well I was hoping it might, sadly. She still thinks that I'm homosexual. On the bright side, she didn't turn me into a monkey, which happened to another classmate. She's a witch, apparently. I didn't know you could change one being into a completely other being. Not that I'm going to be asking for a up-close demonstration at any time.

Tactics of War was fascinating this week. My friend Bridge and I discussed the relative merits of a technologically advanced force going up against a larger army who were familiar with the terrain which is in no way like the Battle of Endor. We decided that it would larger depend on the degree of technological advancement, as well as the morale of both units.

Bridge also led several expeditions to the sixth floor of our dorm, where rooms there lead to very strange places. Stranger than Mol Cal ballet strange. One room was an anti-gravity chamber, and the other was full of incredibly oversized furniture--needed a rope to climb a coffee table large. The third room led, and I'm serious, to clouds. Rory called me from one of them.

I have been keeping myself quite busy. The election results came in--I'm not going to be on the council, which I suppose is all for the best. I never enjoyed politics. I think I got that from my Master, but don't tell him, all right?

I do hope things are going well back at the Temple. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

--Anakin.

Anakin sent the transmission, then pushed his chair back from the desk. He had been feeling twitchy all day but he couldn't quite put his finger on why. He took off his boots, stripped off the outer tunic of his uniform and sat in the center of the floor, concentrating on breathing. Maybe some more meditation would help him figure out what had been bothering him.

There is no emotion, there is peace...

After chatting with Cally, Anakin got a phone call. Face pale, he raced out of the room.
