A place to call my own

On Anzac Day, I became the proud tenant of a beautiful three-room flat attached to the garage. It is the perfect size for just me. (Personally, I don't know how mum and dad survived for 15 months in such restricted space with all their stuff.)

I have discovered I have far too many DVDs (56) CDs (165) and books (you don't want to know). I suppose while I was boarding with Grandad I had a huge excess of income and just bought what I felt like buying. (merely a glimpse of the life of Paris Hilton and suchlike)

Anyway, I'm much poorer now I have to buy silly things like groceries. I disappointed myself the other night when I realised I had no salt and could not season my scrambled eggs and I'm finding it hard to give up on my shampoo of choice which sets me back $15.95 (that's just the shampoo).

Other struggles include motivation to turn off the TV and go to bed. It's such a novelty after living without it for so long. To give an example, I was actually up watching TV when the news broke that the two miners in Tassie had been found. Normal people find out stuff like that on the morning radio or something. Yup, too much TV.

One good thing about TV: Andrew Denton's interview with John & Julia Anderson last night:
