Book 3/52: Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
I totally *love* the Percy Jackson series, and I've been meaning to re-read the books. Especially since watching the movie (don't get me started).
If you haven't heard of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series it's basically Harry Potter skewed a bit younger and with Greek Gods instead of witches and wizards. Boy with crappy life has odd things happen to him. As it turns out, he's super special and very powerful and goes to a special place where there are other people with abilities just like him. Also, there's a three-headed dog.
But there's plenty of humor, Greek mythology, awesome characters, and a steady plot to keep you from thinking, "THIS? I could be reading Harry Potter instead!"
The Lightning Thief is probably my least favorite of the series, but still an enjoyable read.
