Today has pretty much been devoted to watching Heroes on DVD. The summer hiatus is making me antsy.

I went straight for the commentaries, as I do with just about any DVD. They're just fantastic. I love the cast only commentaries. Those commentaries don't have as much background and technical information as some of the others, but they're so much fun. You can tell that the cast just has amazing chemistry with each other. They seriously rule. I just love how Jack Coleman (HRG) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder) play off each other in the commentaries. It amuses me greatly.

It really surprised me how this show hooked me. I really wasn't all that impressed with the pilot (I remember commenting that I liked "Studio 60" better. Ah, how young and stupid I was last fall), and after watching it again, I still wasn't too impressed with the pilot. But man, this show just knows how to grab ahold of you, doesn't it? I think one of the biggest challenges of the second season is not really managing a large cast or different plot lines (which I'm sure will be challenging), but giving each and every episode that surprise ending that I (and I'm sure others) have come to expect. I can't wait.
