For today’s prompt, write a poem in which something is lost and then regained. Maybe a relationship is lost and then regained, or a special keepsake. Maybe it was stolen and won back. Or maybe it was in your possession the whole time, but you just didn’t know it.
Lost
Finding the time to write
is not always the problem.
Sometimes it is the inspiration
that is not there.
The idea behind a poem is fundamental.
Objects in the writing space
or thoughts in my brain space
become a poem.
So what is really lost?
The time or thoughts?
I mean, I feel like I'm losing my mind
most days. Holding on to
quick directions or new names
isn't as easy.
And clearly following one theme is a poem
is equally difficult.
This poem ends with the discovery
that not all poems are decent, but
at least the time to write them was found.
