Weekend re-cap
Crazy fun insane long weekend! Kicked it off Thurs night with Bek and Ross (Aaron's sis and her husband from Gympie) staying over. We went out for delicious pizza at Cafe Fuscia followed by Cold Rock YEAH!
We got up early and went to the ANZAC day dawn service in the city. As the last post started I heard a PPPSSHHHTTT and saw this woman next to me take a swig from a bottle of coke. I don't know what was worse, that she was drinking coke at 4.26am or that she was completely irreverent during a solemn event. Hundreds of other people managed to stand still in silence, even young children, but not rude-girl. I gave her stink-eye on about the fourth time she did it and it must have worked because she didn't do it again (either that, or the bottle was empty by then).
Friday arvo we headed up to Mount Nebo and had a little bush/rainforest walk followed by afternoon tea in a gorgeous cafe. The.best.raspberry.cheesecake.ever. If any Brissy locals want to check it out, invite me! We finished Friday up by going to a footy match (Broncos). I don't really understand rugby league, but it was fun anyway.
Friday must have been all a bit too much, cos I zonked out until nearly midday on Saturday. Spent the afternoon cooking and then headed down to a family dinner and SLIDE NIGHT at Aaron's brother's house. Ha! Aaron was such a cute little boy with his bow legs and outtie belly button.
Today we went to a picnic to celebrate 30 years of IAFQ - International Adoptive Families of Queensland. We picked up a DVD that we won at a raffle last July. It's got two months left on the warranty, but hopefully it will last longer than that.
