*"Flying Home" -Songs for a New World
For lack of any creativity, I feel like talking about my summer in form of a survey...
::Did you....::
Hook up: No. Ugh... Seriously. My life has been dull.
Break up: Nope. It's hard to break up when you're not dating anyone.
Make new friends: Sure did! Pat and Courteney are new. I got really close with Mike, Becky, Kelly, and Steve, too.
Keep the old ones: I think so. I even hung out with Sarah a couple of times-- that's keeping a resurrected friendship. That means a lot.
Lose any: Mmm... not really, I don't think.
Travel: I went to Chicago for my cousin's wedding for a weekend. Other than that, I've been nowhere. I am going to Chicago next week for a few days, though. That's my vacation.
Party: Oh, did I ever! My damn roommates...
Go to the beach: Many a time... especially with Shurry Lynn.
Shop: I shop a lot, apparently. I don't think I do, but Mike says I do.
Go to jail: A couple of times. I mean... no.
Sneak out: I don't have to sneak out... I'm independendendent.
Go to a concert: Mmm... nope. Concerts don't happen up here and I haven't been anywhere else.
Have a job: Hurray! I sure did! I worked at Wattsson & Wattsson Jewelers, loved it, and have become materialistic and obsessed with jewelry. It was also my first summer being a paid actress at LST.
Go to camp: Not my camp. I went to Kelly's camp, though, and it was a blast!
Favorite day of the summer: Hmm... Probably one of the days I spent with Tyson. Those were good days.
Quote(s) of the summer: "Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation." -Elton Trueblood
Two words to describe this summer: Loss, Independence
Song(s) that describe or remind you of this summer:
"Flying Home" -Songs for a New World
"Hate Me" -Blue October
With most this summer: Mike, Becky, Pat, Steve, Shurry, LST people, Tyson.
Favorite person to be around of the summer: Shurry.
Last words about the summer: It started out rough. Very rough. One of the roughest times I've ever had, in fact. I had some terrific friends to help me through that time, though. I went an entire summer without having a boyfriend, without being kissed, without having someone to call my own, and I made it. I can be independent. I even bought myself a diamond ring. People think it's crazy that I bought myself something that is supposed to be given to one by a significant other. This diamond ring on my finger is a gift to myself from myself for getting through so much this summer. I had my first job. I made a lot of money. I made it through some horrible family problems and the loss of someone who I never remember being without. I took another step toward being independent and still managed to have a lot of fun. At times, it seems sort of like a wasted summer. There was some drama, but nothing life-changing. I had some accomplishments, but nothing that's going to affect the upcoming year. But with all that happened, I'm just going to be glad that I made it through instead of taking a step backwards. Here's to a summer of a lot of firsts and some amazing friends.
