why am i not ready to depart 78704?

i type so much hype, but really i'm heavy to be leaving the lesbians holding hands walking down the street. the men kissing in grocery aisles. the deaf-mute cashier at the HEB who laughs at my butchered sign language.

i'll miss the downtown skyline, Town Lake to my left, a short jaunt into concrete jungles full of homeless people and busy business. the buses, the bats, the numerous bands you can catch on any given night. the dank, the drive down Congress Ave, Ruta Maya and the freaks that frequent it.

Richard England and his eco-driven ass. C & E the best roomies evar. Poetry. People who care about poetry. People who don't care about poetry but still listen to poetry. Tattoos. Being able to have tattoos, being considered mild in my adornment of tattoos. Progress. Green city, prosperous city, musical city with big fat mamma arms that hold you tight and make you delicious huevos and chorizo breakfast tacos w/ fresh salsa.

Memories. the Frost Bank Tower where i kissed him the first time with a hint of feeling. the bat bridge where i stripped naked in a tequila haze uncaring of the late night joggers. rooftops. red river street. casino burgers. hai ky # 70 w/ combo meat. the cloak room. gin & tonics. lobbyists drunk and avoiding their wives. sitting on the capitol lawn and talking for hours. lala's.

there is no place like Austin, TX. it's a strange oasis in a sea of conservative fucktards with too much money. it's where the south meets the west. where freaks fuck housewives. she's a beauty and i'm sore to say goodbye.
