So..... I guess some people might be interested in what's been going on in my life over the past while (other than my purchase of the digicam). I'll try and pick out the highlights from my oh-so-fun-filled life of work, kendo/gym, and sleep, but no promises.

Well, I'm on the recovery from being sick. This means that overall I'm healthy, with a bit of coughing thrown in just to remind me that tiny little virii are willing to kick my ass at a moment's notice. So I've not been doing too much in the way of being social. Skipped Simon's all nighter going away party in Osaka this week, because I'd been feeling really run down and verging on sick again. Stupid health. Being sick has, however, provided me with some rather interesting dreams. Like having to put V6 and KAT-TUN in order, or they would release the GIANT SPIDERS to attack me. Or being a battle cyborg girl and getting in a fight where one of my back molars was cracked and ended up falling out of my mouth in pieces, and then getting all pissed about that and completely kicking the ass of my opponent while other random people were singing something to the tune of 'the yodeling veterinarian of the alps'. WTF BRAIN?

Um.... yeah. Moving on now...

Kendo's been pretty good lately. My knees are still holding up alright, if I take care to keep them from stiffening up and getting cold while I'm waiting in line to practice. So yay for that. However, a lot of the time I leave practice feeling just really confused about stuff. Like a couple weeks ago, where I turned my ankle a little bit at practice. I did what I usually do - finished up that round, went and got some tape from the med kit, and wrapped my ankle just to give it some extra support, and got back in line. At the end of the day, Taguchi-sensei pulled me aside and said a lot of stuff in very rapid Japanese. Now, from what I was able to pick up, he either asked me if my ankle was ok, told me to not continue practicing if I did that again, or told me not to come back to practice until my ankle was all better. I really have no clue. And when I looked over at Kawasaki-sensei, who's usually pretty willing to try to attempt English, for help, all he did was tell me to smile and say 'hai'. Thanks. Then this week, I was working with Kawasaki-sensei. Now, I know there's lots of technique stuff I need to work on, 'cause a lot of my habits were formed as a way of moving without pain and aren't exactly right. So I expect a lot of changes when I work with him. But this week, he pretty much told me to change X Y and Z to X' Y' and Z'. So I did, even though it was changing stuff to the exact opposite of how I remember being taught at home. But when I worked with a different sensei, he told me that X' Y' and Z' were wrong, and to change back to X Y and Z. I'M SO CONFUSED. Do I follow the hachidan or the nanadan? SOMEBODY HELP MEEEEEEEEEEE!

I did skip kendo a couple Saturdays ago in order to go drinking in Osaka with some friends. Had about three quality hours of drinking time, in which everyone decided it was their job to get me as drunk as possible before last train. Mission was pretty well accomplished. And I learned that the whole reason I'm in Nova and not JET is that I got bad karma from skipping jellyfish like rocks when I was a kid. [sigh] If only I had known then......

Went shopping a little with Laura yesterday and got a really cute little pig stuffed animal. One of the San-X characters, for those of you who care. He is now named Buta-chan, because he is little and cute and black, and I am an Arashi dork.

I'm still working at Jusco on Sundays, though HOPEFULLY that's going to be ending next week. I'm also at Ito on Saturdays now. Let's see how long it is 'til I'm doing more help shifts than work at my home branch!

Oooh, I finally got my hair cut! Now the back is the same length as the sides, and it looks really cute! My bangs are also at a proper length now, and not in my face quite as much as they were previously. I'm rather pleased with it, overall. And it was my first real hair cut since late September.
