if you go straight long enough you'll end up where you were

My current ipod playlist has a lot of stuff on it I haven:t listened to in a while, so I:m sorta rediscovering my German stuff and Modest Mouse. Actually, I haven:t listened to much that isn:t in Japanese for at least a year now. I:m pleased to report that I can still sing all of Die da and Krieger from memory. Now if only it were possible to do it at karaoke here...

So yesterday was a day off for Thanksgiving, which I spent the first half of holed up in my kitchen (I moved my heater, and cd player in there) so I could make mashed potatoes. Then I met up with Laura (and ignored her for something like half an hour as we walked around town :cause my parents called me, yay!) before heading out to Vanessa and Chanaw:s apartment for our Thanksgiving dinner. The night was pretty fun, with loads of food and a few games. Winners got to help Chanessa get rid of stuff they didn:t want choose a really cool prize out of a grab bag! I got a plastic heart ring, like you:d get out of a gumball machine at home.

Today was entirely too long, and felt like a Monday. As Dean said, no week should ever have two Mondays. It:s just not fair. I did get an ikinari extra prep period, which I spent trying to look busy while mostly just relaxing. When you:ve only got 20 minutes off it:s really hard to do anything productive, anyway, so I just made myself some cocoa and sat down in the office making a list of craft supplies I need to pick up this weekend. Also, I had the worst headache ever (ok, I lie, I:ve had WAY worse headaches before) and had to beg some painkillers off of our manager. I:ve been informed that I:m to take it easy this weekend and rest, :cause apparently they don:t want me getting sick or some such. i work with itsy bitsy little babies - i don:t have much of an option on the getting sick thing you guys

Also, my knees REALLY HURT today. It has to be from spending so much time sitting on the floor/sitting in seiza yesterday. I really should know better by now (did you guys know it:s been 10 YEARS since I first fucked up my knees?!) but I still kinda forget that I just can:t do things sometimes. The cold weather doesn:t help any, either, so going to the park this morning was an interesting experience. I was complaining about it to my dad yesterday and he mentioned again that it:s likely I:ll be having arthritis in them in the next few years. I can hardly wait! >_<

...I:m too sleepy to think of anything else to write, even though I know I have more I want to talk about recently. Maybe I:ll remember later this weekend.

[edit 23:39] The guy next to me here has been singing along with his headphones the entire time I:ve been here. And I can totally hear the music and words from the headphones, too. Currently we:ve looped around again to I Will Survive (the Gloria Gaynor version, not the Cake one) and he:s sittin: there, groovin: away. It:s kinda adorable.
