Ahhhh, I feel so good! I just came out of a fabulous-smelling shower after an hour of swimming and sunbathing. So nice. There's practically no one at the pool during the day and that just about makes up for the fact that it didn't open until a week ago. I made sure not to just piss away my workout while swimming but now I'm STAR-ving. I'm craving spaghetti with tons of grilled veggies but all I have is steel-cut oats so oats it is. I have to admit I'm rather proud of myself for keeping up with exercising and eating slightly better. I've definitely been eating less, too. For some reason I've only lost inches from my waist and just a bit from my legs(?) but the waist is what I wanted to lose anyway. Thank you, pilates and free gym/pool!
On the work front, I've applied at a bunch of places already with even more on the to-hit-up list. Today's plan is to turn in two applications I got yesterday, go down to Marlow's and apply as a server, and then maybe go to The Original Chocolate Bar and apply for server/barista. Maybe even Outback, but only because I would really like some cash already and it's super close to my house. And I have plenty of steak-based experience. Yesterday I almost got happy about serving and the flux of straight-up cash that could be in my pocket soon. Weird, huh? If nothing else there should be stuff opening up in August when everybody goes back to school, but I would REALLY prefer to have a job before then. I'm hopeful, though.
Oh, and last weekend James and I drove up to Columbia so I could get fitted for my bridesmaid dress. It's this dress except with an espresso-brown waistband:
It hits right at the knee and is extremely hot in person. I am personally very excited that I don't have to don some fugly full-length shit. In Columbia we also visited her venue, a friend's AMAZING backyard. It was huge and right on the river. I love, love, love outdoor weddings. I'm so happy I get to be in this one!
When we came back from SC we + the twins went out to Blue Tower for the Alchemy art fundraiser. $10 to get in, 100% of everything donated to the artists and free drinks all night! Not to mention that a) all the art was fantastic, b) the gallery areas were off the hook--the installation art was incredible, c) there was a really sexy Circus Ideate performance and d) there was a giant, weird, artsy playground just behind the building. If it's possible to have too much fun I definitely had it. It just got me super-excited for the burns this year though, so I only have to sit on all my nervous energy for two more weeks until Transformus.
Oatmeal is calling me, so bye!
