I'm glad to see my flisters have checked in and seem to be drying out from Hurricane Irene this past weekend. A happy birthday to
greycoupon and an (slightly) early one to
shahofblah too!
I'm also horribly behind on all new TV, especially the new episode of Doctor Who, which I'll have to watch tonight so that I don't have to hide during conversations at Dragon Con this weekend. I'm a little nervous after the last one? Though I think riding ALL MY FEELINGS ABOUT DOCOTOR WHO EVER on it is probably giving it too much credit. ;)
(D*Con which starts TOMORROW. It doesn't feel real! I have actual work and stuff to get through before my flight even!)
In other news, COMICS! I've been reading more, as evidenced by my contribution for Read Comics in Public Day last Sunday, which I'm also using as proof there's both an app AND a holiday for everything. A short list of stuff I've liked recently includes Batwoman, Rucka and Simone's runs of Wonder Woman (wow...), some of George Perez's run of WW, Runaways, Sandman (reread), Powergirl, and Superman:Birthright. I'm hopelessly lost in DC continuity, but it hasn't really hurt me too much so far. I attempted Watchmen again too, but it didn't stick. It's not actually what I'd call a fun reading experience.
I'm also in the middle of a season three Farscape rewatch and rediscovering my love for the Talyn crew, Crais especially. Stark tolerance levels are surprisingly high too. Each ship really had the perfect mix of characters for me, but I really think Talyn's made for the best mix of nuttiness and adding Xhalax Sun didn't hurt either. Fringe should have taken notes on alternating plotlines.
