and the most embarassing moment award goes to....
wow, i know i've done stupid things in the past, but this passes them all up. So i was trying to decide what i'm going to wear to church today. I found this old dress I havne't worn in a while and though "eh, what the heck" and i put it on. So I go to church, blah blah blah, and when we stand up for the last hymn, i feel that the back zipper on my dress came undone a little bit. Our family always sits just a couple of rows from the front of the stage, so here I am standing with my back to people, just waiting for this hymn to get done so i can go to the bathroom. I don't think it's that big of a deal, since i'm wearing a sweater.( this dress is strapless) So i ask my sister to go with me, and when we get into the bathroom, she says "uh oh. we have a problem". i'm like "what the heck are you talking about!!"
Angela: "well, your zipper is up there where it's supposed to be." But apparently my whole zipper came apart like they do on sleeping bags sometimes, with a whole in the middle of the zipped part.
Emily: "crap! what am i going to do?!"
so my sister goes to my mom to get the keys so i can go home and change. This doesn't seem like a big deal, but we were having NTBMO as a congregation in 30 minutes at a place that is totally out of the way from our house. So, we have to run to the mall which is 5 minutes away and buy a new dress. The whole "ox in the ditch" metaphor for shopping was fun. Apparently the whole congregation knew that I had changed when we got to the restaurant, and they all felt a need to comment on "so emily, i hear you were having issues with your dress. is everything okay?"
