Book on Twilight history, with chapter on Emmett
Hey, I wanted to let you know about a new book that's just coming out written by me and other historians who are Twilight fans, about Twilight and History. I thought that the folks here might be interested because it includes a chapter especially about Emmett, his community and background, and what his life was probably like before he met Rosalie.
The book has chapters written by different historians who are also Twilight fans, exploring the history behind the Saga's world and each character. You can learn a lot more about: what it was like for Carlisle to grow up in Puritan London; more about the history of the Quileute people; what Jasper would have experienced during the Civil War; more about the history of Italy and the Volturi, etc. And, of course, a chapter that is devoted to Emmett alone, written by a specialist in Appalachian history and culture.
Under my fan name, I've written fanfic in several fandoms, and I know that a book like this would be really useful for many fanfic writers, because it offers a lot of new information about each character's background and history. Anyone who wanted to write an AU story would find it useful, or just a story set earlier in the Saga's timeline, that uses information about Emmett's life in Appalachia during the 1930s.
