Forbush Competition

The last competition of my senior year (and possibly ever) couldn't have ended any better. Polk County left with

First Place Drum Major
First Place Percussion
First Place Colorguard
First Place Horn Line
First Place Class A
SUPERIOR rating
GRAND CHAMPIONS for Classes A / AA

We did very well considering that the wind was blowing horribly and that it had poured the rain the night before and the pit was complete mud. We always do well at Forbush, and this year was no exception. My parents came as well as Aunt Charlotte, Uncle Raymond, my cousin Alan and his wife, Beth. I think they enjoyed watching the bands compete, even though Polk County was the best! haha. Mt. Tabor was there again just like at Mooresville last weekend, and once again, just like last weekend they took the Grand Champion trophy for class AAA / AAAA. Last time they beat us overall in score by 7 points, this time they beat us overall by .7 points! So close! It feels great to get that close to a AAA or AAAA band (they were in AAAA last weekend) and be just a little seventeen horn line band. Amazing. Great weekend with the band, great last competition. I loved it!

=] I'm going to Lake Lure & Bat Cave with Jason and his parents today. Hopefully that will be fun! His parents are meeting my parents for the first time today, so hopefully that will go well. hehe. =]
