Appalachian State

Yesterday was a stressful day. We got our calculus books yesterday in class and were doing notes from it, and I was completely lost during the entire class session. I had no idea how to do any of it. So I knew that last night I would be having a huge time trying to do my homework. The thing I've learned about that class is that there simply isn't enough TIME for me to grasp the concepts. Everything moves entirely too fast. I need plenty of time to dig out the answers and the concepts. And I mean...lots of time. So I left the school yesterday dreading how I was going to do my calculus homework, and proceded to the library to finish filling out my application for App State. That really wasn't that big of a deal, but if I hadn't been stressing over calculus and how that was going to work out, I could have had a better time filling all that stuff out and making sure I had everything. Mom was working obviously, so I was trying to get her to read over the application before I sent it, which wasn't possible. She kept having to get up and help someone and couldn't really focus on what i was doing, so I had to wait until the library closed so we could sit down together and look over it. Like I said before, it would have been fine except I stress so much over calculus it's almost unnatural. But I got it filled out, I got my transcript sent with it electronically (supposedly, I'm going to have to double-check and make sure it sent) and I sent my SAT scores directly from collegeboard. Hopefully everything will end up there. I got an e-mail this morning saying that they received my application. So! As for calculus, I made it through about 3/4 of the way last night and I actually did it right. It took me about an hour and a half or so just to read over the lessons the book provided and it took me forever to actually process all the information, but I don't mind doing it forever if I'm actually learning it. There's nothing more frustrating than wanting to learn how to do something and you feel like there's no one out there or anything out there that can really help you. This morning I went in to see Coach Campbell and he basically told me that I was doing everything right. I didn't get to ask him about the last four questions though, which I was totally cunfused about because they are dealing with graphs, but I think that once I get the jest of that then it won't be a problem. But anyway- my application to Appalachian State is sent!

Then this morning I realized after I got to school that I had on a brown belt with black flip-flops. Great.
