This is my last night ever in Shafer 721... its so crazy, and so bittersweet. Everytime I say that word it reminds me of last year, and how on the last day Jessi played "Bittersweet Symphony" like 10 times in 2 hours. But its the perfect word. This place allowed me to met so many wonderful people, and so many people have touched my life in a positive way, its amazing. Yet at the same time I'm going to Grad school, moving into my own HUGE apartment and living in the city next year, which is why its bittersweet. It'll be missed greatly, but I have so many better things coming to me.
Oh I got the assistnatship at Chatham, I don't think I've mentioned that yet, my last entry was right after the interview. Starting August 7th, I am the Graduate Resident Director of Campus Conduct. I actually wanted a regular GRD position in a Residence Hall, but out of everyone that applied I was the only one with judicial experience, so they asked me to take the Campus Conduct position instead. I think it will actually work out better for me because I won't have to be on call at all, which means more freedom, and not being in charge of a building means more freedom as well. It also gives me more experience in an area besides Residence Life, since I already ahve the RA thing under my belt and I think it looks more official on a resume.
Mommy and I went to see the apartment yesterday, and she loved it. Now we just have to furnish it. Its like a full apartment. I have a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and HUGE bedroom. There isn't a dining room, and there's not enough room in the kitchen for a table so that will have to just go in a corner in the living room, but its still an awesome apartment. I have THREE closets, one I'm turning into my little "office" area. I'm just going to put my computer desk in there and make it a little enclosed work area. It's going to be awesome, I'm so excited for it all, it''ll just be realy different from being an RA and having people EVERYWHERE 24/7 to having my own huge apartment. Company is always welcome, so if anyone is ever in Pittsburgh, lol...
Oh, and I get my own office in one of the main buildings. Yep, my OWN OFFICE. I wonder if it'll have my name and everything outside of it, that would be sweet.
I'm such a dork too, that I already started looking up doctorate programs. Yeah, as usual I'm thinking wayyyy toooooo far ahead, but thats how I am!
Besdies school stuff things have been really really good. Life is good right now, I can't complain. I met a boy, whos wonderful so far. We aren't really official, but over the last two or three weeks there hasn't been one night that we didn't spend time together. And its been a crazy two weeks with finals and all, that its amazing we found the time. I'll write about it more later I guess.
Ok, I can't type anymore. This room is so empty my fingers hitting the keys is echoing!
I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M GRADUATING (WITH HONORS) TOMORROW!!!
