crazy weather
it took me almost an hour to get home from work last night. (it usually takes me 10 minutes.) everything was crazy as soon as it started to pour. before i left work, there was water pouring in the back door from the parking lot (where my car was parked of course) so that by the time i left, there was water covering almost the entire dining room and kitchen. walking out to the parking lot, i was ankle deep in puddles so my shoes were soaked. i think i hit a power line or something coming out of the parking lot. i tried about 6 different routes to get home and each time, there was either a big tree branch blocking the road, power lines down that i didn't want to drive over (even though one lady claimed that my bumper would protect me, i didn't want to risk it), or police cars blockading the road. i drove through some nice size puddles and was worried my car was going to malfunction. finally, i ended up going to rte 3 to take the parkway home. that worked until i got near my exit and traffic was stopped since a tree was down at the exit so i had to go to the next exit and work my way back.
that was the worst drive i have ever had and i never want to have to do that again. i was really glad to get home finally. at least now it's not quite so hot out.
