I spent far too much of today playing with photos--mostly wildflower photos--from Rainier. I like flowers and all but it's really the animals I love most so that's what I'm posting more of here.
Okay, I'm also a sucker for signage. I like this particular juxtaposition though I don't think it was accidental.

Make with the animals! One of about a zillion photos of the hoary marmot of Rainier.
I believe this is my newest "life" bird in flight.
A scenic for those (like Eli) who like scenics. This is the view from the doorway of the outhouse up from Panorama Point (at 6900 feet). Me, I'm always pleased to find a toilet.
Another sign. Because I like signs.
There were also frogs! Cascade frogs! I like frogs even more than I like signage.
Look! It's a marmot running across a snowfield. Could it *get* any better?
Well, maybe. A golden-mantled ground squirrel eating lupine flowers is hard to beat.
But what about a *new* bird? This is the American pipit. With lunch in its beak. Almost every animal we saw was eating something. It's like summer is a short season on snowy Rainier and they have to seize every chance they get.
As do I.
Field of wildflowers under blue skies.
