Those who know me will know that it's rare for me to declare a day to be excellent but this has been a truly excellent day. I think it started when I looked out the window to see Eli sitting in the sunshine reading a book and having a cup of coffee. It just looked like vacation and that's sort of the sort of day it has been. I joined him, naturally, and we sat in the sun talking of nothing until a warbler of some sort showed up. I'm calling it "probably an orange-crowned though maybe not." We watched some birds and had some breakfast (which featured some last minute "what if I made biscuits" since we were out of bread), and then I mowed, snapped a few photos, and returned a ball the neighbor children had managed to throw into the yard, before dashing out the door to visit some goats in Madrona.
After the visit we stopped by
Sun Liquor Distillery for
gin and dinner. I had a real hamburger--the first fleisch I've had since Fat Tuesday and, gosh, but it was fine. As was the cocktail. It's a lovely space too. We continued our walk downtown and dashed across the street to catch a waiting C. It was all quite, quite fine.
Photos! Are there ever photos!
