By no other theory can I explain, for example, my own total failure to grow alstroemerias, the lovely Persian lilies that flower in July. That actually sounds kind of delightful. I too have failed alstromerias somehow, they don't like me. I might have to check that book out!

That quote about growing alstroemerias is HYSTERICAL. "Better death than to see that face again." I know that feeling!
