Birds and book, day 59

Feb 28, 2012 19:47

I post earlier than usual this evening while Eli makes soup and, I do believe, washes up the dishes. That man, I tell you, is a saint. I've continued somewhat delicate for which I blame, in chronological order, Ms. Byatt, work, and the weather. I was most vexed to observe gloppy rain streaking my window at work as dark fell this evening, in part because dark seemed to be falling considerably earlier than it did yesterday. It has been so pleasant leaving for work and and leaving work in the full light of day of late; this return to doldrumesque winter is not appreciated. In the front of mind I've been aware that Daylights Savings Time Day, that ugliest day of the year, is approaching, too. Honestly, I'd be so much happier as some sort of woodland creature that mostly hibernated during the winter and that never got up before dawn. Is that so very much to ask?

In other news, I'm thinking about the Shamrock Tea at Villa Heidelberg. It's on March 18th which puts it smack-dab in the middle of Lent and I just don't know about my ability to skip fleisch-based tea sandwiches.
