Rejuvenation...just a little!
Once again...I love Saturdays!
I skipped out on a TFA professional development thing in McAllen to stay here in Rio and get some stuff done. I had been feeling a little guilty about it, but finally realized it just wasn't worth it. I'm a teacher first and a corps member second and I can't be a good teacher during the week if I let TFA eat up my weekends. So I didn't go and stayed here.
And I got so much accomplished! I finished off my visa application for my trip to Russia, went to the bank and the post office to get it mailed, got my cell phone fixed at Radio Shack and got my oil changed at Wal-Mart. All before 2pm! Then I came home and did some grading and some work on the Colby pen pal project. Now I'm taking a brief break to update the ol' LJ and take some deep breaths.
I also started a new short story a few days ago and uncovered one that I began last spring as well. So I will definitely be putting in some scheduled creativity time as well this evening.
Hurray! This is the most productive I've been on a Saturday in weeks!
