oh my gah! 11.5 hours of traveling...

obviously i made it back since i'm here typing, but let me tell you, i'm getting pretty sick of flying when they don't provide reliable/consistent service. so i met the bus in moscow at about 9:20am this morning and took it up to spokane to the airport. i get there, the weather's gorgeous, sunny, blue skies. i check in, go get something to eat, and settle down for what was only supposed to be a 2.5 hour wait for my flight to leave at 3:30-ish. at about 1:30 they announce that they almost canceled my flight, but the people convinced them to keep it, but it'd have to be delayed like an hour. i'm starting to not like alaska/horizon.

anyway, so on the plane, i sat next to this really nice lady who works at a j.jill in eugene and we talked most of the way. it's funny cuz we both were starving by that point, so she hooked us, and this pregnant lady sitting across the isle from us, with like 3 packages each of the oriental rice crackers they were serving. i was so relieved though that it wasn't windy. we really didn't have much turbulence at all, which made me happy because i think i seriously have minor panic attacks if it gets too bad. but i was actually on a larger plane today than i normally am. it was still a little plane you board from the ground, but this one looked like it held 80 people as opposed to the little 40-seaters i'm used to flying (2 rows on each side of an isle that are 10 long--yeah).

so anyway, both my parents were there to meet me, but i felt so bad cuz i called them right as my plane arrived in spokane to take me to pdx, and they were already there waiting for my in portland. oops. then we drove back to tanasbourne area to eat at the newport bay and all the while the lights kept flickering and some guy at a table nearby kept joking to their server asking if they had paid their electric bill. however, pretty much the moment we all had finished our food, the power goes out completely all over the entire area, so all the servers were maneuvering by cell phone light and had to dig around to find tiny candles to set at each table. very romantic. traffic was all backed up because none of the traffic lights were working. all the drive back on sunset hwy, it was so dark, but it's nice that FG has power (or this post would be a little difficult).

but anyway, i'm home and exhausted, but alive.
